m-GURUSH partnership with JEDCO
Always at the forefront of innovation, m-GURUSH, South Sudan’s leading and trusted Mobile Money service, launched Mobile phone payments for electricity top-ups in partnership with Juba Electric Distribution Company (JEDCO). On 1st October 2021. This new service will allow JEDCO subscribers to pay their electricity bills wherever they are straight from their phones.
In a statement re-affirming m-GURUSH’s commitment to Customer-focused innovation, Chief Operating Officer at m-GURUSH, Hon. Mou Ambrose Thiik said, “Our mission is to offer customer-focused innovations in the digital payments space. Our partnership with JEDCO solidifies this. We have simplified the process and will continue to innovate and add new products with exciting features. Electricity token purchases is another great leap for South Sudan that we believe will greatly benefit customers”
This kind of innovation is the first of its kind in South Sudan enabling fast and convenient payment of one’s electricity bill at home or even at work at any time of the day or night just by using your mobile phone. Payment can be done through USD or SSP.

How to top up your electricity tokens using USSD/*335#?
- Dial *355#
- Select 5 – Electricity Payment
- Select option 1 – Buy Tokens
- Select Currency, USD or SSP
- Enter Meter Number
- Confirm Meter Number
- Enter Amount
- Enter PIN
Upon payment, customers will immediately receive an SMS with the token number that is instantly ready for use, coupled with details of the payment.
How to top up your electricity tokens using the m-GURUSH App?
- Log In to the m-GURUSH App
- Select Electricity Payment
- Select Buy Tokens
- Select Currency USD or SSP
- Enter Meter Number
- Enter Amount
- *Optional, enter remarks e.g. when purchasing on behalf of another party or company Submit
Upon submission, the token will be sent to the App screen and on SMS.
