Licensing of Trinity Technologies Ltd’s Platform for Electronic/Mobile Money Transfer Services
NATIONAL COMMUNICATION AUTHORITY
LICENSING OF TRINITY TECHNOLOGIES LTD’s PLATFORM FOR ELECTRONIC/MOBILE MONEY TRANSFER SERVICES – 30th November, 2018
This press release serves to inform the general public and concerned entities that the National Communication Authority (NCA) has granted Trinity Technologies Limited, a local South Sudanese registered company, a license to build and operate a Platform for provision of Electronic/Mobile Money transfer services in the Republic of South Sudan. This license is granted under the National Communication Act, 2012 and the e-Money Regulation, 2017 of the Bank of South Sudan. The Platform is required by NCA policy and regulations to interconnect and interoperate with all other licensed Platforms and Telecommunication Systems that provide such services or being used as a medium of transportation.
It is also worth mentioning that as South Sudan is a Partner State in the Northern Corridor Integration Project (NCIP) and East African Community (EAC), the Platform is already mandated to provide cross border Electronic/Mobile Financial Services to our communities residing, working or studying in those Partner States.
NCA recognizes the important role that will be played by Electronic/Mobile Money services in adding value into the financial services ecosystem of the country, and hopefully steadily transform South Sudan into a modern cashless society. NCA, also, believes that such services will positively transform the financial payment landscape of our country thereby bring more prosperity to our young country and its people.
NCA seizes this opportunity to wish the People of South Sudan that the Year 2019 be the Year of Peace and Prosperity, and that the Almighty Safeguard Our Beloved Nation.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
